To retrieve an item, it must be in the Retrieval View and set for retrieval. There are three ways to add local documents to the Retrieval View:
Menu
1 | On the File menu, click New and then click URL or click New URL from the Retrieve menu. |
2 |
In the New URL dialog box, enter the URL for the item you wish to add to the Retrieval View. An example file URL is
file:///c:\projects\demo.doc, where you wish to retrieve a file called demo.doc
in the projects directory on your c: drive. An equivalent URL for the same file
is file://LocalHost/c:\projects\demo.doc.
Note LocalHost is a host name that indicates the document resides locally. If the host portion of the URL is left blank, LocalHost is assumed. |
3 | The new item is set for retrieval by default. You will always want local documents to be marked for retrieval so they will be retrieved and placed onto your WebCD for end-users to access. |
4 | Click OK. The new URL is added to the Retrieval View. Next time you retrieve, retrieval will be attempted on all URLs in the Retrieval View that are marked for retrieval. |
